Soluble foods should make up an important part of your irritable bowel diet. They will help soothe the digestive tract as well as help bring bowel functions under control, whether it is diarrhea or constipation.
Before you eat anything else on an empty stomach, always start with a soluble food. Don't give your body something hard to digest to start off with.
